The Open Beta of Diablo 2 Resurrected kicks off on Friday, August 20, at 10:00 a.m. (PDT). It opens to everyone, no matter you have pre-ordered Diablo 2 Resurrected
or not. So longtime fans and new players alike both have a chance to
participate in it. If players attended the Alpha Test in April,
they could now start to test the faulty points that they found before.
Duration Time
The Open Beta Test lasts three
days this weekend, from Friday, August 20 at 10:00 a.m. (PDT) to Sunday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. (PDT).
Supported Platform and Download Method
The Open Beta Test is available
for almost all the platforms, including Windows® PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One,
PlayStation®5, and PlayStation®4, with the only
exception of the Nintendo Switch ™ system. But players can finally play
across Nintendo Switch™ when the game officially launches on September 23.
If players play across Windows® PC, they
can download the Open Beta
Test via their Battle.net client from August 18.
And if the players play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, and
PlayStation®4, they are able to download the Beta
Test from the store page(s) across the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store from August 17.
Other Details
1. TCP/IP support is not available in Diablo 2 Resurrected. It has
allegedly been removed as developers are intended to
prevent potential security risks and safeguard the game
experience of players. But TCP/IP support also has some benefits which
should not be ignored. For example, it is the way that can quickly reroll maps without
external tools. But anyway, it means developers
need to improve the experience in other ways since there
is no TCP/IP support. And how they would do this and what it turns out to be are still
unknown. So players can take this chance to test that.
2. The Open Beta Test has fixed
faulty points of the Alpha Test and opened more areas for trial. Except for the three classes in the previous Alpha Test, players can
experience another two new classes - Druid and Paladin.
But the faulty point of which characters spawn in a hostile place before the
game is fully loaded has not been fixed in this Open
Beta Test. It
will be fixed when the game is launched because
developers didn’t want to delay the Beta Test time for this issue.
