Diablo 2 Resurrected: Things You Need to Know about Potions - Section 3

This article was originally published on MmoGah

Welcome to section 3 of Diablo 2 Resurrected Potion series. In the first two sections, we have introduced healing and mana potions, potion fill rate, and the maximum of characters. Today, we'll move on to introducing double fill potions, rejuvenation potions, and resistance potions. If you are interested, keep reading.

Double Fill Potions

Although players can choose the corresponding potions to fill their energy and vitality more precisely after knowing the maximum and potion points, they can not completely control their fill points since there are random chances to get a double filling.

When players drink a red or blue potion, they may have a chance to get double points, but this involves a formula to process and two random integers. If one random integer picked between 0 and (players' vitality or energy -1) is larger than the other random integer picked between 0 and 99, then players can get a double filling.

Players can estimate the percentage of chance in two ways below:

1. When players' vitality or energy is equal to or lower than 200 points.

image

Example:

Vitality 20 points - 4.5% chance of double filling <4.5 = (20 - 2)/4>.

2. When players' vitality or energy is more than 200 points.

image

Example:

Vitality 220 points - 54.1% chance of double filling <54.1 = 100- 10100/220>.

Rejuvenation Potions

Rejuvenation potions are the most convenient ones to use because they don't need to be calculated.

Rejuvenation Potion can instantly refill 35% of mana and health.

Full Rejuvenation Potion can instantly refill 100% of mana and health.

Resistance Potions

Such potions can help to resist elemental attacks, including fire, cold, lightning, and poison. When players hit a unique monster such as a lightning monster, high lightning resistance may save them in such a situation. These potions can increase resistance time.

The Antidote can reduce how long players are poisoned or how much damage poison attacks do to them.

The Thawing Potion can thaw players' character instantly and increase cold resistance for 30 seconds.

Players can get the duration stacked by drinking more potions at the same time. Using two Antidote or Thawing Potions, they can increase 60 seconds resistance.

The above is what MmoGah shares about double fill potions, rejuvenation potions, and resistance potions. We will continue to talk about more D2 Items such as D2 Runes in the future time. Diablo 2 Resurrected: Things You Need to Know about Potions - Section 2

This article was originally published on MmoGah

In section 1, we mainly discussed the effect of Healing and Mana potions on different classes. Today, let's go on to talk about Potion Fill Rate, the time it takes to fill, and the character's maximum. Then we can get the most out of the potions, even regenerate our life.

image

More Points Don't Necessarily Mean a Higher Potion Fill Rate

In general, a potion filling more points has a higher Potion Fill Rate since the time it takes to drink this potion is almost the same as others. Players usually spend 5.12 seconds drinking a mana potion and less than 8 seconds drinking most of the healing potions, except the Super Healing Potion. So when players select a potion from mana potions or healing potions, they only need to consider the number of points it can give you. We can use the below cases to explain.

image

When Barbarian drinks a Minor Healing Potion, 60 points will fill in 7.68 seconds. So the average Potion Fill Rate is 7.8125/s.

When Barbarian drinks a Super Healing Potion, 640 points will fill in 10.24 seconds. So this time, the average Potion Fill Rate is 62.5/s.

But when players drink two potions at a time, the standard that a potion with more points also gets a higher Potion Fill Rate may not be suitable. In the above cases, although the two potions have 700 points in total (60 + 640 = 700), we should not ignore the total time of 17.92(7.68 + 10.24 = 17.92) seconds. So the average Potion Fill Rate is 39.06/s. It's less than drinking a Super Healing Potion(39.06/s < 62.5/s).

So when drinking potions, players also need to consider the amount of time they would take. Even if players are in emergencies, they should not blindly fill points and ignore the average Potion Fill Rate, as drinking one potion can sometimes be more useful than two.

The Character's Maximum Must Be Considered

When people eat something, they may only be able to eat half of it because that's the amount they can feel full. If you continue with the rest, it can only result in overeating. Likewise, players also need to consider their maximum when they drink potions. Otherwise, the potions can only be wasted.

If players are taking a lot of damage, they might need to drink four or five potions to maintain their health. But when they reached their maximum, they could not increase points more than that. For example, the mana maximum of Sorceress is 700. After losing some mana, she begins to drink some potions at 200 points, and the total points these potions can give her are 580, but she can only use 500 since Sorceress has reached her maximum 700 (200 + 500 = 700).

This is what MmoGah shares about one of the important Diablo 2 Items - potions. We can see that using potions needs players to measure and calculate. It's not an easy thing. So next time, we will continue the series. After all, if we want a good experience, we should not blindly do it. We should calculate everything. If you are interested, stay tuned.

Diablo 2 Resurrected: Things You Need to Know about Potions - Section 1

This article was originally published on MmoGah

Diablo 2 Resurrected will launch this month. As its history - Diablo 2 is glorious, players may get interested in everything about it. Today let's talk about potions as they are important in this game. And we have already known that potions have not changed except the color of them. So we can basically know what they will be in Resurrected just from Diablo 2.

Uses

Potions have a lot of uses. They can help players deal with emergencies and against tougher monsters. In addition to basic reparative potions, some potions can be used as soldiers' weapons in battle. For example, when you throw them, they are like a grenade, which can trigger large damage. So these are called throwing potions. And the potions which we drink are called drinking potions. Among them, healing potions and mana potions are the most commonly used ones.

Effects of Healing and Mana Potions on Different Classes

Depending on their classes, players may get different points with their characters after drinking the same potion. For example, they all drank a minor healing potion, but only Barbarian can get 60 points, as others get 45 or 30. We use three colors to display the differences. The red one shows the maximum points; the yellow color shows the middle points, and the blue color shows the minimum points either healing potions or mana potions can give. See these clearly in the pictures below:

Healing Potions

image

1. Healing potions have the largest point effect on Barbarian. We use red color to show this.

2. Amazon, Paladin, and Assassin can gain fewer points than Barbarian would do. For example, they can only get 90 points using a light healing potion, but Barbarian can get 120. We can see these values in the yellow frames.

3. The points in the blue frames are the fewest. So when players choose a class in Necromancer, Sorceress, or Druid, drinking healing potions, their healing speed will be the slowest among the seven classes.

Mana Potions

image

Mana potions are the opposite. Barbarian gets the minimum points, but Necromancer, Sorceress, and Druid can have the maximum points.

This is what MmoGah shares today. These are just part of the potions, and we'll talk about the others next time. If you need to buy Diablo 2 Items when the game launches, please visit our website MmoGah.com. We will have various Diablo 2 Items for sale by then, including some Diablo 2 Rare Items.
